Happy 150 Canada Day

My name is Salvatore Giamberardino Masonry, retired now. I came to this great country in the year 1950 at 22 years of age. Not long after, I got myself a pick up truck, started my own masonry company with my two brothers. After a few years I called many refugees to Canada, Ottawa, from Italy and many from Portugal. They worked for me till they settled and found work on their own. Some stayed with me and worked for many years. We built the Carleton University Apartments, schools, churches in the capital until

my retirement. They all are very grateful to this day. We meet and reminisce about the good old days. I am very proud that I could have helped them in this wonderful country that helped all of us immigrants to make a good life for our children and grandchildren.
